Like many communities, the City of Durham has ambitious goals to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change. The City of Durham is working towards waste diversion, committing to reducing landfill waste and promoting recycling. To promote air pollution reduction and reduce our carbon footprint, the City is transitioning towards an EV Fleet, building renewable energy both on-site and off, and making our City buildings more energy efficient. Finally, the City is planning for a thriving and vibrant environment now and in the future by developing community centered climate action strategies and community resiliency plans.
