Energy use - per sq./ft. of key city facilities
The City has set a goal of reducing the amount of energy use intensity (kBTU/sq.ft.) in City buildings by 30% below FY 2016 levels by 2040 (Sustainability Roadmap outcome measure).
Due to a transition in the sustainability programs for the City and County and in the management of energy data, we are currently unable to calculate this metric for FY 2019. We anticipate that we will have this metric later in the 2019 calendar year.
The General Services Department is developing a formal Energy Management Program to identify and implement energy-saving measures in City facilities. Level 2 energy audits will be conducted in City buildings on a regular basis. In CY 2019, LED lighting will be installed in five City buildings.
