Resident Satisfaction with Live, Work and Play
The Target of 71% is from the benchmark study of communities with 250+ residents for the overall Quality of Life in the City per the Resident Satisfaction Survey.
In 2018, eighty-five and eighty-two percent of the residents surveyed who had an opinion rated the City as an "excellent" or "good" place to live and work respectively, while 69 percent rated it as an "excellent" or "good" place to play. All four areas increased slightly from 2017.
During the fall of 2019, the fourth combined City of Durham and Durham County resident survey will be administered. City departments will continue to focus on those areas falling below target and develop a plan to address the revealed opportunities for improvement.
