Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Rate
To achieve a resuscitation rate of 25% for all cardiac arrest patients when CPR is provided.
The department performed slightly below its goal of 25%. However, some dips in performance are to be expected as the resuscitation rate is highly influenced by patient health factors and circumstances surrounding the emergency, such as bystanders available to assist with CPR prior to fire department arrival. Fortunately, the resuscitation rate the department did achieve is consistent with or exceeds the national performance rate of cardiac arrest resuscitation.
The department will continue to monitor its performance and pursue opportunities to improve patient outcomes. (E.g. embracing new technologies or treatment protocols.)
