Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Rate
The department seeks a resuscitation rate of 25% for all cardiac arrest patients when CPR is provided.
The department performed slightly below its goal of 25% in the third and fourth quarters of fiscal year 2018 and the second quarter of fiscal year 2019. However, some dips in performance are to be expected and the resuscitation rate the department did achieve is consistent with or exceeds the national performance rate of cardiac arrest resuscitation.
The Fire Department will continue to monitor patient outcomes and sustain the high quality of patient care that it believes has resulted in sustained success in cardiac arrest cases.
