Pavement Condition Index (PCI)
The target Pavement Condition Index (PCI) is set by City Council. An average PCI of 65 is desired for residential streets and an average PCI of 75 is desired for arterial and collector streets
In 2018 Public Works began a PCI update process under contract ST-287 Paver PCI Survey. The new PCI ratings are expected to be completed by summer of 2019.
Public Works is making use of pavement preservation methods to stretch the available paving funding and lower the overall cost of maintaining streets. This allows more streets to be addressed per year and increase the overall street network condition and raise the average PCI.
