Resident Satisfaction with Live, Work and Play
The target of 71% comes from a National Benchmark developed by the City's consultant who manages the Resident Satisfaction Survey; the benchmark includes communities with 250,000 + residents.
In 2020, 83% and 82% of the residents rated the City as an "excellent" or "good" place to live and work respectively. Approximately 68% of residents rated the City as an "excellent" or "good" place to play. Three of the four areas increased slightly from 2019 results.
The next Resident Satisfaction Survey will be administered for the City of Durham and Durham County during the Fall of 2021.
City departments will continue to focus on areas falling below target and develop a plan to address the revealed opportunities for improvement.
